Vision is one of the most important entrepreneurial competence because with this feature will give entrepreneurs a tendency to be more prepared to deal with the barriers that try to prevent them from achieving success. Entrepreneurs must have the vision and direction to be achieved based on the objectives and goals outlined . Entrepreneurs who had the vision to know that their actions are consistent with the goals of Vision 2020 drafted by the government. Entrepreneurs who have the vision to plan not only for the short term but for the long term to achieve the goals and vision of the organization they built.  In other words, vision means that a person can look at what can be a long time before it actually happened, namely by showing a clear idea of ​​what should happen or be done in the future . Before making a decision on the measures to be taken by entrepreneurs to move their business goals, entrepreneurs must be clear about their desire for self, employees and their organizations. Entrepreneurs who have the vision will have the ability to foresee the future and make the best decision and consider the challenges, threats and opportunities that will be faced by the company in the future.

Examples of vision can be seen in figure successful entrepreneurs in Malaysia , Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al Bukhary. He is a successful entrepreneur . He is a businessman and well-known French billionaire . He is also the chairman of Al  Bukhary . In the beginning , he was managing the retail business to accommodate family life as a businessman meat in 1970 , but the goal is in his constantly striving to improve their standard of living . Around the 80’s , he was seen not only by the business but only he can succeed by engaging other businesses . For example , he was transferred to the transport sector by opening the Transport Companies Sentosa to start rice business. He had to borrow RM 110,000 to MARA to open the company. Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary clever in doing business and the foresight to expand its business. At first he had only organization 2buah truck, he now has 40 trucks to run a business and grow the business internationally. Business has been so good and he did not need to borrow money from MARA. In addition, he has also managed to popularize Release Johor Port so as to convince the two international shipping company, Maersk Sealand and Evergreen Marine of Denmark from Taiwan to Singapore moved from the port to the Port of. responsible for making the Port of Tanjung Pelepas Johor known in the world in a short period. Vision is an attribute that should be included in any successful entrepreneur figure not only in Malaysia but also abroad.

Faiza Bawumi Sayed Ahmad

Faiza Bawumi Sayed Ahmad is the owner of contractor of rice Syarikat Faiza Sdn. Bhd.. She come from Mesir. She move to Malaysia because of follow her husband after married and get a child. The trait that show she brave to open risk taker are she ignored whether she is Malaysian or not she want to open own business in Malaysia and planning strategy to be a good businesswoman. She has gained experience from being a cashier at her father stall. Her experience is encourage her to start the business and serious in business. During leisure time, she try use that time likes make  stitch embroidery with capital only RM4. She brave to take risk because always want to do something that she can get something. She then produced a set of pillowcases. The result is nice and neat seams sold to friends. Further she also trade of encyclopedia set and others. She saved up that money to make next business. She do not care even the jobs only get a few profit, she always try the best  to achieve her dream.

            She also interested to produce spice of curry. She know ,that she is not coming from Malay race but she taking the risk to try her product in Malaysia. She do it all by herself. Praised to Allah because after a few year, she afford to buy machine which to use in process to prepare spice of curry and established a mini market to promote her product. From that, she realize that most of rice wholesalers supplied by other race. She began to study different types of rice. Puan Faiza apply for a license wholesaler. Customer who have used the spice of her brand began to buy rice from it also. But, she also had experienced an issue where a rice-trailer truck in front of her house. So her initiative is try to packaging used the Bunga Raya brand and sent to stores all over Johor. This is show that she brave to taking risk. For the first, it is too hard to get a regular customer, and have competitor. But this is the way how businesswoman want to successful. It is not easy. To facing another competitor, Puan Faiza try to produce the new type of rice where suitable for diabetics. That rice is “Ponni” rice. this the differences of this wholesaler rice Faiza and another wholesaler. This way will intriguing customer to buy rice of this brand.

            Puan Faiza Bawumi Sayed Ahmad is one of the businesswoman who is brave to taking risk to continue her commerce. Even many of challenge to be the best businesswoman, she do not give up. She make their own capital to build her empire. Praised to Allah, because nowadays her name and her brand is popular in Malaysia. The more popular because of her product combine with a programme in TV3 (“Bersamamu”) make customer purchase goods for charity also.

These are product which produced by Faiza Sdn. Bhd. Not only rice and curry powder that produced. Syarikat Faiza Sdn. Bhd. also produces other essential items such as salt, flour and etc.

Datuk Maznah Hamid

“DATUK WIRA DR. MAZNAH HAMID”

Given name is Datuk Dr Maznah Hamid , who was born in Ayer Hitam , Jerlun , Kedah on April 18, 1955. She later married Shaheen Haji Mirza Habib on 11 March 1979 and had five points of light , two men and three women . Her children are Nur Sharmila , Shahril Reza , Nurul Shameem ,

 Mohamad Shafiq Azim and Mazreen Khanim .

       Datuk Wira Dr. Maznah Hamid is the Executive Chairman of Securiforce . He is also a renowned motivator in Malaysia . She was among the experts who have a lot of motivation to give motivational talks to businessmen , corporate , politicians , civil servants and anyone else who wants to improve themselves. Until now she is still active in giving lectures and motivation to the community.

       She has a lot of hard work in bringing direct Securiforce unknown 30 years ago to become a largest security company in Malaysia and leading more than 400 other companies. Now,she  heads over 65 branches , led more than 6,000 employees , and surrounded by hundreds of firearms and dozens of bullet-proof van.

       What is more remarkable , bullet-proof van has been designed and produced by Securiforce own business . Many are not aware that the service Securiforce not limited to static guard ' only but also include logistics , cash- in - transit , cash management , high - tech cargo management, services ' armored trucking ' , and many other services . INSPIRATION

Haaa u guys, surely dont know who is our beloved lecturer right? hehehe we called him Prof Chee Hee. He born in year 1956( a year before Malaysia got the freedom from british government) . yeah, we not know more about him, but then we still feel it is necessary to introduce him to u guys. He inspired us a lot. His class is awesome. Like me (admin N) , i have programming class early in the morning right before his class, can u imagine that? coding makes me dizzying , fainting , blurghh .. haha over.. yeah, every time i enter his class (same goes to my friends) , the spirit boost up . But yeah, as usual like other people or students, we feel so sleepy during lecture but will awake in story sessions. Prof  Chee like to share stories with us. From entrepreneurship , to other stories.
Okay i bukan membodek, but just want to introduce you guys simple info about our lecturer * i mention this so many times. So dont call me "pembodek" eh yelah.. great students come from a great lecturer. Although we are not great enough, but our lecturer is.. :) glad to have him as our lecturer.  here he is..

During Ramadhan , muslims will buy dates as their "fast breaker" . It's sunnah okayh.. and the most popular dates is from Yusuf Taiyoob company.

haa back to failure as an option..

  Failure must be an option to entrepreneurs. It is inevitable in the way to success. From the failure, entrepreneurs can learn something new and gain knowledge from their mistakes. It shows that they are actually trying to do something instead of just sitting or living in their comfort zone and do nothing. Entrepreneurs need to take the failure intelligently. In which they have to learn and not just making their failure to be just a failure without learning anything from it.  There are a lot of entrepreneurs who afraid to fail while inventing new idea then finally leads them to real failure. Dato’ Yusuf Taiyoob is one of the best examples of entrepreneurs that dare to fail and make a failure as an option.

         He had been in the business world about 30 years. He is the one who really determine in achieving his target. For him, failure is an option. If we choose to fail then we will fail. He believe that there is no a failure to someone who wake up from his failure but always a failure to those who gave up easily. He faced a lot of problems in a way of his success.He faced a lot of difficulties in his first business of selling perfume . At that time he was 21 years old and there is no a direct party looked at him. He only had the help of his family. It made him realize that when he did not has the interest or only has a small company, then people will not look into him but will kick him around.

         He tried other businesses , including product distribution saffron flower , cashew nuts , dried foods and spices .He never give up till finally he came out with idea of being the supplier of dates in this country.Although aware of the existence of competition in the business in 1990 , he believed that existing regular customers , in addition to competitive prices, with a guarantee of quality products .

          What is important is according to him , a person needs to know what stage their ability to compete in a challenging business and meander though aware sometimes competitors are willing to do anything in their business. Recounts the early history of involvement in the business date , he has to face the first challenge when the two containers ( 40 tons ) of palm imported from Iran are not very nice , but he did not panic .This caused him to go to Iran to find a date that manufacturers do not face the same problem in the future . Then finally , his business now has run successfully. His company is the most dates supplier in Malaysia. This showed us that entrepreneur should make the failure as an option. Failed once does not mean you fail forever. The choice is in their hands. Whether want to success or fail.

So what networking is? why it is so important? hummm if u start read mine, make sure u read to the end..

        Networking is one of the most important things in carrying a business. Entrepreneurs should have this networked trait to be succeeded. It is important to entrepreneurs as its offering variety types of resources, build effective low-cost marketing  for developing sales opportunities and contact and it will also help entrepreneurs to start or improve their entrepreneurial projects. Entrepreneurs who have good networking, will survive better than entrepreneurs  who just have  good innovations and skills but have no good networking with people. Networking can be build up by meeting face-to-face with others , gatherings, or may be by other contacts method for example through phone , email and by increasing the social or business networking  website. Entrepreneurs with a good networking will be known and easily get the help of others to run their businesses.                Ananda Krishnan is a simple example of entrepreneur who has good networking with other people. Now, we can see how good his business is. Not just a business but now he own his businesses.His business had been introduced world wide and he also has improve his product services from one service to another service that give benefits to other people.  He makes good networking not only with people in Malaysia, our beloved country but also with people all around the world. Before he started his multimedia empire in early 1990s , he involved in lottery business in  Australia and he also carried a responsible as a deal maker of oil business and that time he made good relationship with leaders  or politicians in America and also corporate staff petroleum industry in Asia.Ananda Krishnan is a good friend of Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah . When Tengku Razaleigh lead in the Ministry of Finance, Ananda Krishnan will always accompany him for any social as well as corporate meetings. He also acted as the centre people in every negotiation  process. Tengku Razaleigh was the one who introduced Ananda to Tun Dr. Mahathir. But, in order to has very close relationship with Tun Mahathir, he himself, always set a meeting so that they can discuss on important issues. But although his relationship with Tun Mahathir get better day by day, he still care of his relationship with Tengku Hamzah.

Because of having good relationship with Tun Mahathir who is the Prime Minister at that time, he got the opportunities to take over in equine industry of Malaysia which is located at the centre of Kuala Lumpur. He is one of the shareholder in Petronas . Now he led Usaha Tegas Sdn Bhd. Which is one of the Malaysian Investment holding company. The principal investments include, telecommunications,  media , property and oil& gas companies. From here we know, how important the networking to entrepreneurs in order to maintain their  business. Maxis Berhad, Astro Berhad and also Armada Berhad are companies that hold by Ananda and his subsidiaries. His good relationship with politicians helped him to be trusted by his customers or the stakeholders. It builds a strong believe from other people that he could run his business well so that, they do not have to worry about the service guarantees that his companies provided .

Haaaaa so, apa lagi, lets be friend with our Ministers especially our Prime Minister.. eh. dont think lain eh.. because Prime Minister is the most influence person in Malaysia, so why not have a good collaboration with him right? why not? why not? nothing impossible.. huhuh okay everything begins will find the end. so we would like to end our babbling about mr Ananda.. daaaa have great days everyone.

A STORY OF TYRE MAN

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone. Hows today? I hope that everyone fine.

First of all, I have a question all of you.

DO YOU KNOW HIM ?

He is invented tyre that we used today. His name is John Boyd Dunlop.

Here,  I will introduce a bit about him.

Ø  John B. Dunlop was born in Ayrshire, Scotland.

Ø  After completing his studies, Dunlop practiced as a veterinary surgeon first in Edinburgh, Scotland, and then in Belfast, Ireland.

Do you guys ever thought how he got the idea of starting the tyres that we use nowadays?

 His first idea was in 1887. Dunlop was watching his young son riding his tricycle on solid rubber tyres over cobbled ground. Then he noticed that his little boy was not going very fast and did not seem very comfortable. Dunlop started tried experimenting with make some improvements to the tricycle's solid rubber tires. He cut up an old garden hose, made it into a tube, pumped it up with air, and fitted it to the rear wheels of his son's tricycle.

      In 1888, Dunlop tested and patented his pneumatic tire in Great Britain, and secured a U.S. patent in 1890. An Irish industrialist named W. H. Du Cros became interested in Dunlop's invention after a cyclist won a Belfast race with his pneumatic-tired bicycle. Du Cros organized a company with Dunlop, which became the Dunlop Rubber Company, eventually a worldwide concern.

      Dunlop did not profit from his invention. He sold his patent and interest in the company to Du Cros in 1896 and retired to Dublin, where his only business activity until his death there in 1921 was an interest in a drapery firm.

       After its introduction in 1888, Dunlop's pneumatic tires became standard equipment for bicycles since they so well absorbed the direct road shock that bicyclists experienced. The same year as Dunlop's patent, the first automobile was produced by Karl Benz of Mannheim, Germany. The availability of Dunlop's new tires led to experiments by others to produce a thicker-tread tire for motor vehicles, and in 1895 Michelin's first auto mobile tire appeared. With the growing popularity of the automobile after 1900, the demand for increasing durable rubber compounds for both bicycles and autos became enormous. Dunlop's invention gave increase to two major industries.

         Now , Dunlop is the world's leading tire brands with a various of products that have been scraped palms on the highway millions around the world. In the decade of the '80s, Dunlop managed to dominate the market in Germany, Britain, France, and the United States. That was the beginning of the rapid development of Dunlop, particularly in the areas of technology development, production capacity, and global marketing network all over the world. John Boyd Dunlop died October 23, 1921, due to illness.    

           It is clear that John Boyd Dunlop is a true observant. He invented tyre that we use until now. Through experiments, research and development (RnD), he managed to create a practical tire products that are beneficial to the automotive world.

Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong

Hye guys !! long time no see..
haaa today, we will talk about Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong . We guess all of you knew who he is. We believe that most of you only know his name and his "Genting Resort" but not knowing about his sacrifices in making Genting Highlands as great as today. How do we know? hmm we know lah. In fact we also get to know his history of life after being asked by our beloved lecturer, Prof Hoe Chee Hee to finish our group assignment. Just want to know lah, what is your reaction when your parents say " jom pi genting highlands, lama dah kita tak pi sana"  huhuhu i know u guys mesti terkinja-kinja keriangan kan.. dont lie.. we hate lier.. huhuu btw, this is our first try, so please don't blame on us if u feel bored reading our entry. We still in learning process..

 haaaa lets back to the main topic for this post.. --> Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong..

       Our late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong is one of successful enterpreneurs in Malaysia. He was born in 28 February 1918  at Anxi which is located in Southeastern Fujian province, China. Haaa let us treat you his picture.

       He is the son of Lim Shi Quan who is his father and also Goh Ban who is his mother. He grew up in the village environment but during his growth China was under 1911 revolution crisis.Fortunately he still got opportunity to get shelter and studying in school. But as we knew, life is so unpredictable. When he was 16, his father passed away. So as men in the family,  he and his elder brother had took over their late father’s responsibility. So he stopped studying for the sake of his family.

          But, the revolution became worse day by day like there was no end. :'( So he decided to go to new place which is Malaya ( now known as Malaysia). He leave Chine when he was 19 years old in early February. He set off to Malaya to follow his uncle, Lim Mo Jin who worked as Class A Contractor in Kuala Lumpur. He emigrated to Malaya with a bless from his family. In the beginning of his emigration, he just had 175 dollars in his small suitcase which is 100 dollars  from his mom and 75 dollars from his own saving.  

          He sailed across South China Sea for eight days then he landed and safely arrived in Singapore. Then he went to Kuala Lumpur to his uncle’s house. As we knew, His uncle, Lim Mo Jin is one of Class A contractors in Kuala Lumpur, so he took this opportunity to work with his uncle. He worked for him as a carpenter.

           He worked hard and after two years, he tried to involve in construction field.This shows that he is a good observant. He learned something in order to gain something new.  He started out as a building subs-contractor. His first project was to build a two-storey school at 9th miles in Cheras Road, Kuala Lumpur. After that he started to join in Kien Huat Construction Company. He took over so many projects in Kien Huat Construction Company after had been qualified as Class A Contractor. He involved in construction projects such as Construction of Ayer Hitam Dam Project in Penang, Construction of Sultan Yahya Putra Bridge Project, Kota Bahru and also Construction of Hydroelectric Project , Cameron Highlands.

          Back to the main story of developing Genting Highlands, his idea was came out when he was in duty as Sub-Contractor of Cameron Highlands Hydroelectric Project. He had dinner at night and the idea came when he was enjoying the fresh air and night view in Cameron Highlands. But as we already knew, Cameron Highlands is far from Kuala Lumpur, therefore build a mountain resort to a place that is nearer to Kuala Lumpur will give benefits and greatest business potential compared if it is builds in Cameron Highlands.

           In 1963, he was been advised by The Genting District Officer to approach Federal Government directly as he already had a plan for developing Genting Sempah. Tan Sri Haji Mohd Noah bin Omar introduced him to our first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al- Haj. But, due to the road of access that requires 15 years to complete and our country was confronting with Indonesia, the plan to set up the mountrain had been postponed. After period of time, Tunku Abdul Rahman decided to approve the project to be handled by private company since putting huge of funds into development at that time will give ammunition to opposition. He approved Lim to start the project after the paper work had been prepared within a week.

           Lim Goh Tong started his cooperation with Tan Sri Haji Mohammad Noah on 27th April 1965 and they incorporated a private company named as Genting Highlands Sdn Bhd. They applied for Pahang and Selangor State Government for 4940 hectares and 1110 hectares of freehold land respectively after the next 5 years. Pahang approved their application but Selangor was not. Selangor Menteri Besar , Datuk Harun only will give the land for 99-year lease. After discussed with Datuk Harun and explained clearly, then his request been granted. 

       From this we can see that, although he faced a problem that leads to a failure, he still trying his best and found the best solution to solve the problem by meeting the person that he needs to seek for approving. Then after a trial, he succeeded to get the application from Selangor State Government. This show how he manage to has very good networking with other people especially with influential people. This will help and give advantages to entrepreneurs to build up and maintaining their business. So our advise is, "jangan malas"

             But,everything in this world will has its own problem. Problem that Lim Goh Tong faced before opening the Genting Highlands is in January 1971, Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas were hit by the worst rainstorm when it was all geared up to commence business on that year. 180 locations of landslides cause the road to Genting had to be closed. Then after renovation and clearing the landslides, Genting Highlands was officially opened on 8th May 1971.
